On the evening of Thursday November 8, 2012 an enthusiastic group of fifty YSU graduates, staff and faculty members gathered at the home of President Larry Ryan for the annual Alumni Dinner.   At this year’s event besides the usual cocktails and networking conversation, participants enjoyed a sumptuous Indian buffet dinner and a full hour continuing education session on the topic of ”TCM and Nutrition.”   Under the guidance and direction of YSU MATCM Dean, Dr. Lawrence Lau, the CE component was expertly facilitated by YSU graduate Traver Boehm , L.Ac. and his business partner, Joel Chapman, a Cordon Bleu trained chef.  Boehm and Chapman are co-owners of ChocolaTao, a Santa Barbara, California company that specializes in the creation of specialty chocolates that have added nutritional value by virtue of being infused with a variety of Chinese herbal products.   ChocolaTao has designated Yo San University as a beneficiary of a percentage of its profits from products that are distributed via promotional materials and displays in the professional practice offices of other Yo San University graduates.    The event also included brief address by Lisa Knickmeyer,  the Yo San University Alumni Association Chairperson.  Lisa highlighted the networking and career development  support provided to Yo San University graduates via   the YSU Alumni Facebook page and the Alumni portal on the Yo San University Website.  Lisa thanked the participants for their presence and their support of the Alumni Scholarship fund, and introduced featured guest, Dr. Maoshing Ni, Yo San University co-founder, member of the Board of Trustees and faculty member.  In his address, Dr. Dao announced the special initiative of the Board of Trustees to provide further connection with and support for the University’s alumni.    He praised the work and efforts of the Alumni Association .  The evening was topped off by double chocolate brownies from ChocolaTao.   The event benefited the Yo San University Alumni Scholarship Fund.
