Since our founding as a private nonprofit educational institution in 1989, Yo San University has earned a solid reputation among its peers as a leader in training acupuncturists and practitioners of Chinese Medicine in North America. In sharing the rich tradition of Chinese Medicine as passed down through 38 generations of the Ni family lineage, Yo San's commitment has been to train compassionate healers, become a vital community asset for health and wellness, and empower people to use their own energy to heal themselves and lead healthier and happier lives.
As a young institution, Yo San depends on the generosity of alumni and friends. Every gift to Yo San makes a difference--helping us provide free and low-cost wellness services to our community, attract the finest and most qualified faculty, enhance our Master's program, and offer valuable and unique public education programs. Through the on-going support from our community we are building a foundation to ensure Yo San's future as a pillar of the worldwide movement towards natural health, wellness, and balanced living. Our students, faculty, staff, and all those we serve rely on your generosity.
In the past five years, with the financial support of people like you, Yo San has provided over 55,000 low-cost treatments in our community clinic. Through our externship programs at Venice Family Clinic and Being Alive, an HIV/AIDS member organization in West Hollywood, we provide over 1,300 free treatments annually to underserved, low-income patients.
At the end of 2004, to celebrate our 15th anniversary, Yo San initiated its first broad-based appeal to members of our community. In 2005, we initiated our "Tao of Wellness" campaign, appealing to patients who have experienced the healing powers of Traditional Chinese Medicine at our founders' clinic in Santa Monica. Through these annual fund efforts and various fundraising events, we are working to build a base of support that will sustain Yo San well into the future.
Yo San invites individuals, corporations, and foundations who share our vision and commitment to passing along the secrets and wisdom of Chinese medicine to support our work. Donors may support programs or services through gifts of cash, stock, multi-year pledges, and planned giving.
