I am licensed by the California Acupuncture Board and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I received my MA in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University in Los Angeles, CA. I specialize in Oriental Reproductive Medicine, women’s health and natural beauty care. I have had extensive specialized training in the field of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and regularly attend seminars and conferences to further my knowledge in this area.
My Practice
Women’s health : Female patients come to see me for relief from painful or irregular periods, PMS, menopause, chronic yeast infections, low libido and amenorrhea.
Pregnancy support : Conditions of pregnancy I treat include morning sickness, preeclampsia and frequent miscarriage. Ideally treatment is started before a woman becomes pregnant. We want to correct any disharmonies within your body and thereby create the best possible environment for the fetus to thrive in.
Fertility : I have helped both female and male patients improve their fertility and to conceive with the use of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. With patients who are undergoing IVF or other Assisted Reproductive technologies, I have used acupuncture and in some cases personalized herbal therapy to complement those treatments. Numerous studies have shown that regular acupuncture treatments in the period leading up to an embryo transfer, and immediately before and after the transfer, can improve the implantation rate by as much as 60%.
Pain : Acupuncture is wonderful pain relief. Patients find that they no longer need to take pain medication, or that they can take smaller or less frequent doses of their medication, after being treated with acupuncture. I regularly treat my patients’ existing, longstanding injuries; when patients come to me with new injuries, I prescribe a personalized acupuncture treatment plan to speed up the healing and to curb the inflammatory process. Pregnant women who wish to avoid pain medication often come to me for pain-relief treatments. I have also treated numerous elderly patients suffering from pain due to arthritis.
Beauty : I practice Microcurrent Therapy for facial rejuvenation and toning. Microcurrent strengthens the muscles of the face, increases the body’s production of collagen and elastin, reduces edema (swelling) and under-eye puffiness, diminishes fine lines and enhances facial color and texture by improving circulation to the face. I usually design an initial series of 12 personalized treatments, scheduled once or twice a week, and then a monthly maintenance program. Microcurrent is almost identical to our bodies’ own electrical impulses. At most commonly used settings, patients do not feel the current at all. Several years ago, I started making my own facial creams and body balms because I have sensitive skin and have had bad reactions to many beauty products on which I had spent a lot of money. I have since developed these creams into a small line of non-toxic natural cosmetics that I sell to my patients. In addition, I make salves and ointments for injuries and skin problems.
