About Yo San University

Our motto, "Ancient Wisdom-Family Legacy-Modern Medicine," best characterizes our philosophy. We respect and build on the theories, methods and successes of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that have developed and endured through several centuries. We place particular attention on the value brought to the medicine by 38 generations of Ni family practice (Brothers Daoshing and Mao shing Ni founded Yo San University in 1989.)

The program at Yo San University focuses on prevention, balance and wellness through TCM practices such as acupuncture, medical qigong, herbal medicine, tuina, and nutrition. Program offerings include integrative medicine specialty areas in Healthy Aging/Longevity and Reproductive Medicine/Women & Men’s Health. Our professional community acupuncture clinic partners with western medical clinics specializing in oncology, pain management, HIV treatment, pediatrics and others. We offer a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Doctoral Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

The university's mission is to help students cultivate a healthy mind, body and spirit and to prepare them for successful futures as practitioners of acupuncture and TCM.

We are a strong supportive community motivated to heal each other, our patients and ourselves. Encounter any one of us in the hallways and it becomes clear that Yo San University is a well-lived and well-loved place where students come to learn, practice, grow, meet and be with new and old friends.

Yo San University grads have for many years had the highest pass rate on the California Acupuncture Licensing Exam and have gone on to establish successful practices through out the U.S. and in many places outside the U. S. Yo San University is proud to present its graduates, the licensed acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners serving your community.
