Acupuncture Scholarships
Below are three scholarships for students attending ACAOM accredited universities:
Mayway Scholarship
Eligibility & Requirements:
- The Mayway Scholarship Program is open to DAOM and Master’s level students who are currently enrolled in an ACAOM–accredited college of Oriental Medicine within the United States and who will be attending OM college in Fall term in the year you are applying. Master’s level students should have completed the college's classes in Materia Medica or Chinese herbs
- One entry per person each year is allowed
- The student must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.25 in their OM program, which shall be verified by the College’s Registrar
Nuherbs Co. Scholarship
Eligibility & Requirements:
- Current student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Attend a participating ACAOM accredited acupuncture school
- Completion of Application and Essay
- You must be enrolled in an ACAOM accredited school at the time of the application. You also must plan to attend the Fall term in the year you are applying (for example in 2012, you must attend the Fall 2012 term. Students graduating Spring or Summer 2012 or entering Fall 2012 are not eligible).
Trudy McAlister Scholarship
Eligibility & Requirements:
- Completed at least one full academic year of their professional training.
- Minimum cumulative GPA from of ACAOM accredited college of AOM of 3.6
- Minimum cumulative GPA from Undergraduate Studies (accredited college) of 3.5
- Each college can nominate up to three students.
Other Scholarships
USA Funds Scholarships
Eligibility & Requirements:
- USA Funds awards $1000 and $1500 scholarships to students enrolled at accredited schools including Acupuncture and TCM schools. In 2010, USA Funds awarded scholarships to 667 students nationwide. Their deadline is in February. For example, the deadline for the 12-13 academic year will be February 2012.
American Association of University Women
AAUW - Career Development Grants support women who hold a bachelor's degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the work force. Special consideration is given to women of color, and women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields. Funds are available for tuition, fees, books, supplies, local transportation, and dependent care and for distance learning. Recipients must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Awards range from $2,000 - $12,000.

Finaid.org
- FastWEB (Financial Aid Search through the WEB) has awards from more than 10,000 sources. It also has the tightest math criteria, meaning that students will not be shown awards for which they do not qualify. FastWEB's database is updated daily.
- College Board's FUND FINDER. The College Board's FUND FINDER scholarship database, also known as ExPAN Scholarship Search, lists scholarships and other types of financial aid programs from 3,300 national, state, public and private sources. The database is updated annually.
- SRN Express is a free web version of the Scholarship Resource Network (SRN) database. The SRN database focuses on private-sector, non-need based aid, and includes information about awards from more than 1, 500 organizations. The database is updated annually.
Sallie Mae's Scholarship Search
Sallie Mae's free scholarship search provides access to an award database that contains more than 3 million scholarships worth over 16 billion dollars, and is expanded and updated daily.
