Jennifer Shulman is a doctoral candidate in Yo San's Women’s Health and Reproductive Medicine program. She is a California native from Santa Barbara, and is following in her mother’s footsteps, not only as a California acupuncturist, but also as a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Jennifer spent several years practicing acupuncture in New York City before returning to California and beginning her current practice in Redondo Beach. Jennifer maintains a thriving practice and has provided over five thousand treatments since she entered the field in 2008. She is a member of the Junior League of Los Angeles, and volunteers at the Children’s Institute in Torrance, helping economically disadvantaged children learn to cook healthy meals for themselves and their families. She is an avid reader, and also enjoys gardening and drinking tea. Jennifer’s certification in Chinese Nutrition enriches her treatments to include not only acupuncture and herbs, but also a nutritional counseling component. She is passionate about women’s health and the treatment of gynecological pain, and will be writing her Capstone on the use of acupuncture and the treatment of dysmenorrhea.
