Beginning with the winter 2014 issue, v 66, the AAAOM’s peer-reviewed research journal, The American Acupuncturist, has a new section: "Clinical Pearls.”

What is a clinical pearl? These are small bits of free-standing, clinically relevant information based on experience or observation and that address a specific topic. They can be communicated either verbally or in printed form.

For this first Clinical Pearls section, we invited several experts in the field who have extensive clinic experience and are faculty members at AOM schools. We also included a contribution from an AOM student, believing this would be of value to readers.

The topic selected was "How would you treat colitis with diarrhea in your clinic.” You can read the pearls in v 66 at the AAAOM website, p 28: http://goo.gl/sh4OzA

For possible publication in our next issue of The American Acupuncturist, we are seeking clinical pearl submissions on the topic: "How would you treat a migraine headache in your clinic?”
Please limit your submission to up to 400 words, with a maximum of eight references, and submit in a Word file. Send it to submit@aaaomonline.org .
Be sure to include your full name, academic degrees, licenses, position/title, affiliation, full address, telephone number, email address, and the number of years you have been in practice. The deadline for submission for consideration in our next issue is by or before February 15, 2014.

Please feel free to send us any questions you may have about clinical pearls to leder@aaaomonline.org .

Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you.
