Doctoral Faculty

The quality of education in the DOAM program at Yo San University is a reflection of the expertise of the faculty and the dedication of the administration and staff. All were chosen for their superior knowledge and skill in their particular field and their demonstrated commitment and passion for healing. Many of the faculty including our founders, Daoshing and Mao Shing Ni, are descended from a lineage of TCM masters in China. Our biomedical and Professional Development faculty come from major Universities like UCLA, USC and Duke University. All are experienced, successful teachers and practitioners committed to a program designed to allow for student/faculty mentor relations and to provide information and skills that can be immediately applied in practice.

Joseph

 

Joseph Adams, L.Ac., MTOM
Program: DAOM

Joseph was certified as a massage therapist in 1992. Although his initial training focused on Swedish style massage, he gained expertise in Asian techniques while pursuing his Acupuncture Degree. 

Marilyn

 

Marilyn Allen, M.S.
Program: DAOM MATCM

Marilyn Allen is a well-known expert in the fields of acupuncture and medical malpractice. She is also the current director of marketing for the American Acupuncture Council.

Stephen

 

Stephen Chee, MD, MATCM
Program: DAOM

Dr. Stephen Chee is interested in the integration of Eastern and Western medicine as well as Mind-Body medicine.  He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in 2001, completed his Family Medicine residency at Glendale Adventist and is Board certified in Family Medicine.

Diane

 

Diane Cridennda, L.Ac., FABORM.
Program: DAOM

Diane K. Cridennda graduated from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in l995 with her Masters of Oriental Medicine degree. She trained in Beijing, China to explore the root of this ancient healing art. She is NCCA certified, licensed in Color

Margo

 

Margo DeLeaver, MD.
Program: DAOM MATCM

Dr. Margo Deleaver is a board certified physician, trained in both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and received her TCM Master’s degree from Yo San University.

Cormac

 

Cormac Ferguson, M.T.O.M
Program: DAOM MATCM

Cormac Ferguson M.T.O.M, Dipl. Ac & CH, L.Ac., a board certified Herbalist and Acupuncturist, is a passionate advocate of Traditional Chinese medicine, he is also a dynamic and entertaining speaker with a modern approach to the teaching of Chinese Herbal formula construction. 

Theodric

 

Theodric Hendrix, Jr., MD
Program: DAOM

Dr. Theodric Hendrix is an Obstetric, Gynecology, and Infertility physician, with a medical education from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and completed residency at the University of Los Angeles, Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Infertility.

Brandon

 

Brandon Horn, PhD, JD, LAc.
Program: DAOM

Dr. Horn is a lecturer, researcher and clinician in the fields of acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition. He received his Bachelor and Juris Doctorate degrees from Ohio State University.

Jiling

 

Jiling Hu, OMD
Program: DAOM MATCM

Jiling Hu, Licensed Acupuncturist, OMD, a native of Hu Bei province in China, received her medical degree at Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Central China. 

Fritz

 

Fritz Hudnut, DAOM
Program: DAOM MATCM

Dr. Hudnut has maintained a private practice in West Los Angeles using the Art of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) to help people since 2000. He also presently serves as a clinical supervisor in the Yo San student intern clinics.

Gary Alan

 

Gary Alan Jacob, DC, L.Ac., MPH, DipMDT
Program: DAOM

Gary Alan Jacob, DC, LAc, MPH, DipMDT did his baccalaureate studies in Philosophy of Science and subsequently graduated Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (1978) and then California Acupuncture College (1981).

Hong Yun

 

Hong Yun Jin,
Program: DAOM MATCM

Dr. Hong Yun Jin trained in China. She has been practicing acupuncture and herbs since January 1996. She has been a supervisor in the DAOM clinic at Yo San University since 2012.

Marc

 

Marc Kalan, MD
Program: DAOM

Dr. Kalan is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology. He received his medical degree from the Roslyn Franklin University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School.

Stuart

 

Stuart Kaplan, MD
Program: DAOM

Dr. Stuart Kaplan graduated with honors from New York University, earning his bachelor's degree in biology in two and a half years. He applied for medical school in his sophomore year of college and was accepted by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
