According to Chinese Astrology the Year of the Horse is also called the Year of the Wooden Horse because wood is an element related within this New Year 2014. What is Chinese Astrology? Chinese Astrology is a prediction theory using Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. The Chinese Astrology Calendar is a combination chart of Yin-Yang, Five Elements and 12 animals. The five Elements are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. The 12 animals are: Rat, Cow, Tiger, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Chicken, Dog and Pig. Chinese Astrology uses the Yin Yang balance theory to predict people's fortune through principles based in philosophy. This can be traced back 2,000 years to 206 B.C. during the Han Dynasty when poetry, literature and philosophy prospered in the different regions of China. Chinese astrology holds close relations to Chinese philosophy where the Yin Yang philosophy and the theory of the five elements were brought together to create various Chinese principles. The Year of the Horse: The Horse is considered to bring fortune, surprising adventures and unexpected romances. Horse year is an excellent year for travel and exploration. This year is a highly, energetic, and a rewarding one, therefore, there is no time for procrastination but instead victories. The Horse is a heroic symbol in China due to important battles won, power and strength of the horse that brings luck and good things. If you have doubts about a certain decision then don’t follow through. During this year of the Horse, many events move so rapidly so if you gallop too quickly you may stumble in the wrong direction. Born in the Horse Year: If you are born in the following years 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014 then you are a horse; bright, cheerful, fun and loving. The Horse is a highly intuitive animal, so people born in this year are very much so. Horses are carefree, wild, and willful by nature and always trying to find a way of self expression. Horses will freely express themselves and tell you exactly what is on their mind. At the same time, they don’t have to struggle in order to obtain success and the fines things that life has to offer. However, because the horse can be impulsive, (act now and think later attitude) try not to make the mistake of overspending to avoid any mistakes. This is the best year for the horse to have good fortune, marry and have children. The prime opportunity years for the Horse are Horse, Tiger, Sheep and Dog years. The least fortunate years are the Rat years.
