The Year of the Horse celebration that took place on Sunday, February 9, 2014 drew over 150 people to the campus and was a smoothly running festive and celebratory event. The solemn renewal ceremony was followed by several addresses including the reading of the annual message from Master Om Ni, and Dr. Mao’s perspective regarding what to expect in the Year of the Horse. Several music and dance numbers as well as Qi demonstrations followed the addresses. The entertainment culminated with the colorful and dramatic Lion Dance performed by the Sholan Temple. A bounteous potluck was capped off with the Yo San University 25th anniversary cake. Open house and demonstrations rounded out the day. One of the features of the day was an un-narrated pictorial Power Point history of the University that was on continuous loop showing while the Chinese New Year participants enjoyed their lunch in the Seven Star Room. Special thanks are due to the Yo San University Student Association (YSUSA) for their excellent organizational and logistics efforts that made the 2014 Chinese New Year Celebration meaningful and memorable.
