Meet Gina Mortellaro-Gomez

Gina entered Yo San’s Reproductive Medicine and Women’s Health DAOM program as the next step in an already long and dynamic history in the field of health.  She earned a B.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from South West Acupuncture College, also in Boulder Colorado. She also has experience as a fitness and personal trainer, with background studies from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Gina entered Yo San’s Reproductive Medicine and Women’s Health DAOM program as the next step in an already long and dynamic history in the field of health.  She earned a B.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from South West Acupuncture College, also in Boulder Colorado. She also has experience as a fitness and personal trainer, with background studies from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

After her extensive education in the States, Gina went on to further her studies in China, where she received advanced clinical training and a post-graduate diploma in Chinese Herbology from the Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in Beijing, China. She also completed an advanced clinical externship in “Ancient Chinese Medicine” (ACM) specializing in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology & Meditation, receiving a post-graduate diploma from The Shanghai Insight Ancient Chinese Medicine Training Center in Shanghai, China. During her time in China, she also spent an extensive amount of time studying Tui Na, Tai Ji, and Qi Gong. 

Upon her return from China, Gina completed an advanced clinical apprenticeship in Acupuncture Sports Medicine with Whitfield Reaves, O.M.D. Gina is also Nationally Board Certified in Oriental Reproductive Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.

Gina loves spending time with her family and is also an avid recreational athlete, with much of her personal time being spent in the mountains, enjoying skiing, mountain biking and hiking, or in the front range with her road biking, trail running and yoga.  In addition to her formal studies, Gina has spent an extensive amount of time traveling abroad in China, Nepal and Thailand, and strives to apply her experiences, not only in daily life, but also within her medical practice.  Gina maintains a busy practice in Lakewood, Colorado and you can learn more about her practice and clinic at: www.healing-traditions.com.
