“Observing at the Tao of Wellness was one of the most exciting and memorable times for me this year, being that I was able to see firsthand our medicine at work amongst an esteemed team of doctors who are dedicated to their craft. It was a thrilling experience, the first time I stepped in the room with Dr. Mao (he was the first person I had the chance of observing), I remember thinking to myself how lucky I was to be able to watch him treat his patient being that I had never seen a doctor treat someone before, except in a classroom setting. I was completely focused, nervous and enthralled. I wanted to catch every moment of it, I remember blinking, and the next moment Dr. Mao had already placed every single needle he had in his patient. He was lightning fast. I felt like I was in one of those martial arts movies, watching the master at work. On another occasion, I was able to observe Jessica Chen, an associate who had co-wrote Sitting Moon with Dr. Dao, we had an in-depth conversation about pregnancy and woman's health. After watching her treat a patient of hers, she shared with me how that particular patient was a regular who has been coming every week for the past six years for maintenance and general well being. It was encouraging to see that there are people out there who care about their health in this way. I also remember Thomas Boldt teaching me about FSH and follicles, and performing Infinichi on his patients to ease their stress. At that time, I had little knowledge of women's health and infertility and it was very exciting to get an introduction of it. I learned something from every doctor at the Tao of Wellness, they each had a special gift that was so unique to each individual, yet they worked as a team, and it was being used for healing. That was the best part about it all, to be able to witness healing taking place is a bit of a gift and miracle in itself. To see patients joyful for the opportunity to conceive and bring life into the world, or see their cancer treatment side affects being relieved through herbs and Infinichi or seeing a child getting his flu taken care of, made so much impact on me as a student of TCM. I was thankful to be able to observe and see for my own eyes that our medicine works and it rocks!”
