Questions, Questions, Questions!

The Yo San University DAOM program with its specialty in Reproductive Medicine was perfect for Carla. It allowed her to learn from both TCM experts and Western medicine physicians who were dealing with issues most fundamental to the survival of humanity—how our daily choices and personal histories have a significant impact on fertile potential and overall health. While answering many of Carla’s questions, the two years of one weekend a month classes and supervised fertility clinic sessions also stimulated the generation of many more questions.

Carla Vidor’s friends and professional associates characterize her as a person of boundless inquiry, consistent positive energy and pervasive compassionate care. We might add “perpetual motion” to those descriptors as Carla’s background also includes years of experience as a dancer and Pilates instructor. Carla carefully balances her attraction to athletic movement with the slow and contemplative practice of yoga, which she has also advocated for many years. For Carla, motivation to keep the body moving and in balance is the pivotal factor that fuels her interest in wellness. Carla’s life has been dedicated to facilitating wellness in people and in our planet. After earning a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Barnard College in New York, Carla taught Pilates and worked for several years as a pre-school teacher in Santa Monica before earning her master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and achieving licensure as an acupuncturist. With her acupuncturist’s license in hand Carla worked initially with a patient/client population of yoga students treating the migraine pains often associated with the practice of Ashtanga yoga. As most TCM doctors will attest, the treatment of physical conditions is usually at the surface of deeper presenting problems. It was through this common theme and through her own insatiable sense of inquiry and wonder that convinced Carla that her education thus far had only scratched the surface of what there is to know about helping people achieve wellness. More importantly, Carla’s response to the numerous questions that she had generated about health and wellness was marked by a decision to enter Yo San University’s doctoral program. The Yo San University DAOM program with its specialty in Reproductive Medicine was perfect for Carla. While answering many of Carla’s questions, the two years of one weekend a month classes and supervised fertility clinic sessions also stimulated the generation of many more questions. Additionally, involvement in the YSU DAOM Program led to Carla joining a West Los Angeles clinic directed by YSU Faculty member and fertility clinic supervisor, Denise Wiesner. At that clinic Dr. Carla Vidor responds to wellness questions and provides treatments in a women’s health oriented setting. Carla’s home is in the Los Angeles area where she continues to practice TCM in a wellness oriented environment. For as many answers that Dr. Carla Vidor provides, just as many new questions come into view. With her recently earned doctoral degree Carla is prepared to find the answers to all questions.
