Richard Rodriguez, better known as Shaman Wayra, was initiated in Amazonian Shamanism in the high and low jungles of Peru. Wayra is a disciple of the maestro teacher, Solon Tello Lozano. During seventeen years of working with indigenous peoples, Wayra has expanded his path of healing beyond the usual parameters of folk and western medicine theory and practice. As a humble, sincere, open minded and inquisitive ‘shaman” Wayra shared with the Yo San University community the spirit of healing from diverse cultural perspectives. In his presentation Wayra explored the cultural, physical and energy dynamics of alternative therapies including psychotherapy, auriculopunctgure, reiki, floral therapies and breath work applied to cases ranging from drug addiction to infertility. The session was well attended with over thirty enthusiastic Yo San University students participating.
