Yo San University is pleased to announce that its President, Dr. Larry Ryan, has been appointed as Editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Herbal Medicine (IJHM). With his background in mentoring the research work of doctoral students at several universities and his own history of publication, Larry is a good choice for the very part-time volunteer position. The International Journal of Herbal Medicine is truly a world-wide venture with scholars from India, South Africa, Japan Singapore, Turkey, South Korea and the United States constituting its editorial and managing boards. The on-line peer reviewed journal features the results of current research in the areas of botany, pharmacognosy, medicinal plant research, ayurveda, marine plant research, phytochemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, Unani Medicine and Oriental Herbal medicine. The world of research in Traditional Chinese/Oriental Medicine is relatively young. Institutions such as Yo San University with doctoral programs requiring the completion of capstone/dissertation projects, have emerged as centers where original and often ground-breaking Traditional Chinese Medicine research is generated. Larry encourages students and faculty from both master’s and doctoral programs at Yo San University and other institutions to consider the IJHM as a potential venue for publication of completed research reports.
