There could not be a more quintessential New England setting than Amherst, Massachusetts. The peaceful but busy hamlet is nestled in the beautiful “Pioineer Valley” adjacent to the currently snow covered Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts. Moreover, the town has the advantage of being the home base for several prestigious collegiate institutions including The University of Massachusetts, Hampshire College and Amherst College. The legendary mainstay members of the “Daisy Chain” schools (the out of vogue nickname for female Ivy League institutions), Smith College and Mount Holyoke College, are just a stone’s throw away. Amherst has long been a haven for academics and other free thinking beings who enjoy a lifestyle that combines the best of “back to nature” with “the life of the mind.” This book-laden and consciousness-oriented environment is the place that 2010 MATCM graduate, Stephanie K. Mattrey, chose to launch her career as an acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. Stephanie is affiliated with the People’s Acupuncture Clinic, a practice that overlooks the idyllic Amherst Green, and which not only provides acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine services, but also martial arts, Qi cultivation, life coaching, Feng Shui and Life coaching training and consultation. The website of the People’s Acupuncture Clinic (www.thepeoplesacupunctureclinic.com) includes abundant testimonials from individuals who give the clinic five stars and praise the practitioners for facilitating both health and life transformations. The clinic has an across-the-board policy of satisfaction with services rendered, or no charge. Stephanie is an integral member of the clinic team that includes professionals whose backgrounds include extensive study in China and Japan. Residing in Amherst with her husband and two children, Stephanie has found the ideal place to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine!
