Andrea Murchison, L.Ac., Dipl.OM., earned her MATCM degree from Yo San University and has a private clinical practice based in the University Clinic. Andrea’s practice includes the treatment of chronic stress disorders such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, headaches and gastrointestinal complaints. She provides rehabilitation treatments for injuries, joint and muscle pain, and postsurgical recovery, and has helped many patients ease the symptoms of immune disorders, PMS and menopause. She has Advanced Certification in Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™ (which includes dermatology and the treatment of Bells Palsy, Facial Neuropathy and Paralysis) from one of the country’s foremost authorities on facial acupuncture. Having a special interest in how foods can affect health and disease processes, Andrea has also gained Certification as a Traditional Chinese Nutritionist. Andrea is currently the Assistant Academic Dean at Yo San University and serves on both the administrative and academic faculty.

Image Lawrence Lau, MD (Singapore), MSOM, Dipl Ac, LAc was born and raised in Singapore. He attended the National University of Singapore allopathic (western) medical school, graduating in 1990, and completed his residency training in family medicine there. After joining a private practice for several years, he moved to Hong Kong for advanced training in psychiatry. His interest in traditional Chinese medicine brought him to California in 1998, where he attended Samra University in Los Angeles, receiving his Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine and his California acupuncture license. Lawrence began his academic career as Associate Academic Dean at Emperors College in Santa Monica, and joined Yo San University as Dean of Clinical Education in 2001. He subsequently became Academic Dean/Chief Administrator in 2003. Currently, Lawrence serves as Yo San University's Dean of Academic and Clinical Education. He remains part of Yo San's clinical faculty and maintains a private practice in the Yo San Clinic. Lawrence adopts an integrative approach in his TCM practice, advocating the use of TCM as a complementary and adjunctive modality to conventional western allopathic medicine. In addition to general internal medicine diseases, Lawrence's special interests are in the areas of immune disorders, including HIV diseases, chronic and acute pain syndromes, chronic stress and fatigue, and wellness maintenance. BS, PhD, MATCM, Dipl Ac & CH, LAc

Wing-Benn Deng emigrated from his native Taiwan in 1995, intending to pursue a career in western medicine in the United States. He immediately began intensive English language study and attended Grossmont College, majoring in biology. In 1998 he enrolled in pre-med studies at the University of California, San Diego, earning his Bachelor of Science degree two years later in biochemistry and cell biology. Upon graduation he experienced some personal health problems that altered his thinking about western medicine. "I decided I really wanted to focus on healing the whole person - the mind, body, and spirit."

Wing-Benn entered Yo San's graduate program and simultaneously took TCM courses in the Mandarin language program at Dongguk Royal University. He graduated from Yo San with honors, earning a Master of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and subsequently obtained his California acupuncture license. He holds the Diplomate designation from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Wing-Benn has served on Yo San's clinic staff in the herbal laboratory since graduation. He also teaches courses including Chinese Herbal Pharmacopoeia, Chinese Nutrition, Acupuncture, and a State Board Review class. His private practice includes pain management (sports injuries, arthritis, joint and back pain, migraines and chronic headaches), allergies, high blood pressure, stress management, male and female infertility, Tuina (massage), nutritional counseling, and treatment of senior citizen health problems. Wing-Benn delivered a well-received series of community lectures for seniors as part of YSU's Advancing Healthy Aging program.

Image Yu-Hong Chen, PhD, B Med (China), MSOM, LAc grew up in Chengdu, the capital city of southwestern China's Sichuan Province. She received her degree in Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine from Chengdu University of TCM in 1992 and then completed a six-month advanced internship program in acupuncture at the Chengdu University Hospital. After practicing in China, Yu-Hong came to the United States in 1993, where she was offered the position of Herb Lab Manager at Yo San University. After earning a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine from Samra University in Los Angeles, Yu-Hong received her California acupuncture license and began practicing acupuncture and TCM. She returned to China in 2002 to complete an advanced program in TCM dermatology with Professor Cai Qian Liu, a well-known dermatologist, at the First Hospital in Chengdu.


Yu-Hong's special interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and pain relief. She has engaged in the specialized practice of facial rejuvenation using acupuncture and Chinese herbal facial masks, and has developed herbal formulas for treating various skin conditions. Her practice also includes general internal medicine, sports injuries and psychological conditions such as stress, depression, fatigue, and insomnia.
