ImageAs a student at Yo San you will enjoy the year-round, mild climate of coastal southern California. Our close proximity to the beach means the temperature ranges from an average low of 46 degrees F in winter to an average high of 81 degrees F in summer. There are plenty of sunny days when you can venture from Yo San's campus to the beach in Venice or Marina del Rey to study, bike, stroll, enjoy the street performers, the fresh ocean breezes, or catch a sunset. On weekends you might try hiking in the nearby Santa Monica Mountains or drive Malibu's 27 miles of breathtaking coastline. Marina del Rey offers opportunities for sailing and kayaking. Or you might want to visit one of LA's many fine cultural attractions such as the Getty Center, the Hollywood Bowl, or the Disney Hall.

If a getaway appeals, Los Angeles International Airport is only five miles away. Santa Barbara and the vineyards of the Santa Ynez valley are a two hour drive north. San Diego lies about two hours south. Palm Springs and the ski resorts around Big Bear are about two hours east. The campus has easy access to both the 405 (San Diego) and 10 (Santa Monica) Freeways, giving you a simple commute from many desirable neighborhoods.

Yo San outgrew its earlier home in Santa Monica some years ago and is now housed in a modern, three-story building designed in accordance with the principles of Feng Shui and the Five Elements Theory. You will find ample parking on the premises and on adjacent neighborhood streets. The campus is easily accessible by public transportation.

Our campus is situated at the convergence of three prime neighborhoods on the west side of Los Angeles--Venice, Marina del Rey, and Culver City--each with its own distinct flavor. Santa Monica is just a few miles away. If you are new to the Los Angeles area, we can provide assistance in finding housing or help you find a compatible roommate from the Yo San student body. Los Angeles is a multicultural city, boasting a wonderfully diverse range of ethnicities. This is reflected in its local cuisine. With a density of restaurants second only to New York City, you will have countless dining options including Japanese, American, Indian, Thai, Kosher, Chinese, Mexican, Ethiopian, Italian, and French food
