About Ming Dong Li L.Ac. : Ming-Dong Li earned his medical degree in 1982, and later his Ph.D. in the field of Chinese Internal Medicine from Heilongjian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. He completed his internship and residency at Shanghai Yu-Dian hospital in China, then served there as an attending physician.
Dr. Li also teaches Chinese Internal Medicine, Acupuncture, Tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage), Tai Chi and Qi Gong as a professor in Emporer's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine and Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was the clinic director at the Royal University from 1992 to 1995, Associate Dean at SAMRA University from 1996 to 1999, Dean of Clinic Education at Dongguk Royal University. He was the board director of California Acupuncture Medical Association (CAMA) for four terms from 1993 to 2001 and is currently its advisor.
In addition, Dr. Li is a Tai Chi and Qi Gong master. He teaches Tai Chi Quan and Qi Gong in The Emperor's College of TOM and Yo San University of TCM as a professor and he is a Tai Chi instructor in a published clinical research study performed at UCLA which demonstrated the effectiveness of Tai Chi and Qi Gong in helping with tension type headaches. He was a proud recipient of four Gold Medals of Tai Chi competition at the UC Berkeley 15th Annual Chinese Martial Arts Tournament in 2007. That same year he also won first place in Tai Chi at San Diego's International Martial Arts Competition. In 2008 he won a Gold Medal at the Disneyland Martial Arts Festival.
